About the Project
The Dunlevie House at Miller’s Pasture was truly a unique project for Pier & Beam. The challenge presented to us was to restore the building’s historic characteristics that had been lost throughout the years, while modernizing many amenities to make it suitable for use. What we did included the removal of non-historic elements and materials, the replacement of non-historic doors and windows, repair and restoration of the house’s historic porches and upgrades to the plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
As evidenced by the dramatic before and after images above, this project was a huge success. In fact, the Georgia Trust chose the Dunlevie House restoration to win the Marguerite Williams award, given annually to the project that has the most impact on preservation in the state. The Dunlevie House is now an educational and nature center.
